A new outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus has been confirmed in the African nation of Congo.
Two cases have now tested positive for the virus, with at least ten more suspected.
The disease first appeared on humans in 1976. The first cases occurred in a village near the Ebola River in Congo, hence the name.
Ebola causes severe illness which is almost always fatal if left untreated. No cure exists, so treatment is palliative only.
The 2014-2016 Ebola outbreak killed over 11,000 in the African continent, mostly in Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia.
