Two former French police officers jailed for seven years after being found guilty of raping a Canadian tourist

Two police officers in France have been convicted after they were found guilty of raping a Canadian tourist back in 2014.

The two men Nicolas Redouane and Antoine Quirin were found guilty of all charges brought against them.

It is understood the two men raped the woman after they took her on a tour of 36 Quai des Orfèvres police station in Paris, on April 22nd, 2014.

Although the initial case was thrown out of court three years ago, the two men were sentenced to seven years in prison this week – following an appeal.

It is alleged that the two former members of the BRI anti-gang force, raped the woman after they brought her to the station after they met her at a nearby pub.

The men were found guilty after technical and scientific evidence including DNA samples and phone records were presented in court.

According to French media the jury were also convinced by the consistency of the victim’s statements over the past five years.
