Two gardai have sustained injuries following separate incidents in Dundalk on Tuesday night.
In the first incident, a driver became abusive after being stopped at a checkpoint and assaulted a female gardai, who was taken to hospital with minor injuries. The man was arrested at the scene.
In the second incident, a male gardai sustained light injuries while attending a public order call in the Coes Road area of Dundalk. A man was arrested in relation to this incident also.
