Two Irishmen have been acquitted in an Australian court of unlawfully killing a homeless man in 2018, RTE reports.
The pair of Donegal natives argued that they were attacked by the 66 year old during a night out around Christmas time in Sydney. The man died nine days after the violent altercation. Both men had been drinking for 12 hours prior to the incident, with a judge ruling that there was ‘some degree of incapacity’ at the time of the violence.
They have been acquitted of murder and unlawful killing, meaning the court ruled the two former Syndey housemates acted in self defense.
