Gardai in Co Tipperary have arrested two men after a man was assaulted during a burglary this morning.
It is understood that two men broke into a house in the Westgate area at approximately 5:30am and made off with a number of items.
However the homeowner a man was injured after he chased down one of the thieves and was assaulted.
Gardai say the injured man was taken to South Tipperary General Hospital for treatment.
They added that two men aged in their 20s and 30s were later arrested.
