Two more people have been arrested in France in connection with the terror attack that left 84 people dead and dozens more critically injured in Nice on Thursday night.

It is understood that a male and a female are now in custody. Both are said to have had ties with Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel, the perpetrator of the massacre.

A picture of fast religious radicalization has been revealed over the last 72 hours, in relation to Bouhlel’s state of mind. Information extracted from relatives confirmed that the former delivery driver quickly evolved from someone with little interest in religion to a mass killer, under the watchful eye of the extremist organization IS. They have claimed responsibility for the atrocity.

French President Francois Hollande declared three days of national mourning after the tragedy, and extended the state of emergency in the country for another three months.
