Two weather warnings in place as Ireland faces the brunt of the winter season

Two weather warnings remain in effect this afternoon, as Met Eireann forecasts strong winds, further snowfalls, and widespread frost formation.

A wind warning is in place for counties Galway, Mayo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick. Gusts of wind of up to 85km/h are possible.

Meanwhile, a second warning for snow and ice also remains in place.

Daytime temperatures will struggle to rise above 5C, and the thermometer will sink back to below freezing after dark.
