A two-year-old toddler has sadly passed away after his father allegedly spent an estimated £130,000 of donated money on prostitutes and designer clothing.

The incident happened in the small Brazilian town of Conselheiro Lafaiete in recent times.

It is understood that the child, named as Joao Miguel Alves, was born with spinal muscular atrophy and needed a specialist drug that costs £70,000 per dose. The Brazilian Government agreed to pay for the first three doses, and the couple raised enough funds for three more.

But the father soon began misappropriating the money and spending it for his own benefit.

He was arrested at a luxury hotel where he had been staying for two months.
