The UK have confirmed that it has imposed sanctions on Belarus following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
According to Sky News the sanctions were imposed after Belarusian forces are believed to have taken part in Russian military exercises before the invasion.
The move comes after a number of countries have imposed strict sanctions on Russia following the invasion.
It is believed that the imposed sanctions have already had an impact with the value of the Russian ruble dropping by as much as 30%.
