France has confirmed it will send long-range weaponry to Ukraine, in yet another mighty boost for the country’s offensive arsenal.
France will send Système de Croisière Autonome à Longue Portée – Emploi Général (SCALP) missiles, a twin weapon to Britain’s highly effective Storm Shadow, which has already been put to good use on the battlefield.
SCALP weapons have an effective range of over 250 kilometers (155 miles), which makes it the longest range weapon available to Ukraine at this time. Such a range enables Ukraine to strike targets deep inside enemy or occupied territory.
These weapon platforms are ideal for destroying hardened targets, such as command-and-control infrastructures, bunkers, and other high-value assets.
