Naval drones have sent yet another Russian vessel to the bottom of the sea along with its entire crew in a rather special Valentine’s Day gift for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The latest craft to dwell at Davy Jones’ locker is the Caesar Kunikov, a Ropucha-class landing craft.
The ship was targeted earlier today by Ukraine’s elite Group 13, a special forces detachment with a long list of successes behind it.
The Caesar Kunikov, which normally carries a crew of 87, began listing heavily after being struck by several drones. She sank to the bottom of the Black Sea soon afterwards, no survivors reported. This is the 15th ship sunk by Ukrainian action.
In an act of superb trolling, the craft was sunk exactly 81 years to the day after Caesar Kunikov, the Soviet naval officer after whom the ship was named, died during World War 2.
