Russia is resorting to scorched earth tactics as Ukraine pushes forward and retakes more territory in less than a week than Russia occupied since April.
There are reports of long-range strikes on electric substations across eastern Ukraine, with the goal of depriving people of light and heat. A spokesperson for Ukraine’s foreign ministry rightly referred to the attacks as ‘acts of desperation following Russia’s immense losses.’
Russian troops are now in full retreat from the Kharkiv area, following Ukraine’s lightning warfare over the past few days. Most experts agree that the tide of war is very much changing in Ukraine’s favor.
