Ailing Russian President Vladimir Putin appears desperate to sue for peace as his ill-fated invasion of Ukraine peters out due to massive losses of men and materiel.
Mr. Putin attempted to sound casual when he said that Russia ‘never rejected calls’ with Ukraine, but he’s likely fishing for a way out of a war that he’s already lost. Any prolongation will only mean the slaughtering of more young Russian conscripts and the destruction of more military vehicles.
Ukraine however has made it clear that it will not negotiate while there’s Russian troops still marauding around its soil, preferring instead to massacre any soldier still standing as it has been doing up to now with exceedingly high success.
