Ukraine counter-offensive: Russia’s Black Sea Fleet struck by massive drone attack -several dozen personnel killed or wounded and multiple pieces of equipment heavily damaged

Russia’s Black Sea Fleet has been struck by a massive drone attack, with several dozen personnel killed or wounded and multiple pieces of equipment heavily damaged.

A military base near the village of Perevalne, in the Simferopol region, home to the 126th brigade of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in temporarily occupied Crimea, was targeted by a drone strike.

A wave of unmanned aircraft struck the site on Friday, and though some were intercepted, no fewer than 9 found their targets. Ammunition dumps were damaged or destroyed, several vehicles were obliterated, and a yet undetermined but substantial loss of troops and specialized personnel was reported.

Ukrainian services confirmed that the Russian facility was completely unprepared and unaware of the impending strike, likely because an early warning radar array had been destroyed in a special forces raid earlier in the week, rendering the Russians blind and vulnerable to attack. Most personnel in the Russian Aerospace Forces’ 3rd Radio Engineering Regiment was annihilated in the raid.
