Western sources have confirmed that thorough training for Ukrainian Patriot crews is to begin shortly.
It is understood that operators will be brought to the US, with some overseas training sessions also planned.
Ukraine is set to receive two Patriot batteries in the near future, one donated by the United States and a second one provided by Germany.
Patriot systems have been operational since the early 1980s, and have been battle-tested in military theaters as diverse as Iraq, Yemen, and Israel.
Once Ukrainian operators are fully trained, the Patriot platforms will provide an almost impenetrable air defence canopy across the country.
