A Ukrainian drone strike has laid waste to a Russian airfield near the town of Pskov, sited about 400m from the Ukrainian border and a short distance from Estonia.
No fewer than four highly valuable Il-76transport aircraft were destroyed. The damage was so great that all incoming flights to Pskov were immediately canceled.
The strike was the largest drone onslaught launched by Ukraine since the war began, as six regions were targeted.
While Ukraine has declined to provide the exact number of drones utilized in the operation, military leadership has confirmed that similar large-scale attacks will only grow not only in numbers, but also in intensity.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s air defence grid shot down all 28 incoming missiles and 15 out of 16 drones launched by Russia overnight.
