At least nine Russian jet aircraft were destroyed following an incredibly successful operation carried out by Ukrainian special forces.
The daring raid took place at an airfield in the Crimean district of Saki, on the peninsula’s western coast. The area is well behind enemy lines.
Meanwhile, Russia is laughably claiming that ‘poor fire protocols’ caused the destruction of the aircraft.
This is the first known instance of Ukrainian troops striking so deep into occupied territory, a clear sign that Ukraine is slowly regaining the initiative and that the invader is on the backfoot.
