Ireland might take in up to 40,000 Ukrainian refugees by the end of April, according to Tanaiste Leo Varadkar.

It’s unclear where the Government plans to house all these people, since the Irish Government has so far been unable or unwilling every one of its citizens in need. Housing waiting lists can run into years.

Mr. Varadkar is one of the only Government officials to confirm that he will use his private residence to house refugees.
