Russian troops have hurriedly abandoned a strategically important airport near Kyiv before Ukrainian military arrived.
Hostomel Airport had been the focus of heavy fighting early in the campaign, changing hands several times but remaining mostly under Ukrainian control.
Russian troops ran away today ahead of the arrival of Ukrainian freedom forces, as staying would have almost certainly meant death.
