Ukraine crisis: Ukraine requests setting up a demilitarized zone around nuclear plant due to indiscriminate Russian shelling that’s endangering vast areas of the European continent

Ukraine is requesting that a demilitarized zone is set up around a nuclear plant as a matter of urgency, due to indiscriminate Russian shelling that’s endangering vast areas of the European continent.

Russia has been accused of shelling the area surrounding the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Station. This poses an incredible risk for the entirety of Europe, as a stray shell might cause a deadly explosion that could cause a chain reaction.

If this were to happen, Europe might bear witness to a Chernobyl-like catastrophe.

Russia currently controls the plant, but likely not for much longer as Ukraine’s military is closing in. Russia appears to be bent on a ‘Russian or no one’s’ policy, meaning that Russia would likely blow the whole complex up if it cannot hold it.
