The Ukrainian army retains control of Kharkiv, the country’s second-largest city in the country, and has inflicted heavy casualties to the invading forces.
According to unverified reports, up to 4,300 Russian troops have become casualties since the start of the campaign.
Russian operatives have also been repelled from the capital, Kyiv.
