The first squadron of Leopard 2 tanks arrived in Kyiv on the first anniversary of the Russian invasion.
The new tanks are expected to be a game changer, and will make short work of the remaining Russian troops during an expected decisive counter-offensive to be mounted by Ukraine in the coming weeks.
What’s left of the Russian army has no effective countermeasure against modern Western tanks. Russian tank operators will go up in flames along with their antiquated machines without ever knowing what hit them.
There is also increasing talk of sending 4th and 5th-generation fighter jets to Ukraine to gain air superiority. Once the West controls the skies, Ukraine can safely deploy an armored fist to punch through Russia’s thin defensive lines and destroy the invader. In the ensuing rout, mechanized brigades being trained by the United States can pursue and destroy the retreating Russian units until Ukraine is clear of any invading forces.
