Ukrainian forces have blasted a Russian Sukhoi Su-24 bomber out of the skies over Bahkmut.
Su-24 aircraft is an aging design that has been plagued by accidents. The first such model entered service in 1967, and though it has been upgraded since, it remains a fairly antiquated aircraft that’s easy prey for modern NATO weaponry.
One crewmember was spotted ejecting from the stricken aircraft, and was seen landing on top of Ukrainian-held lines, so his fate is uncertain. The second crewmember did not appear to eject before the aircraft went down.
