The United Nations passed a resolution yesterday imposing a raft of heavy financial sanctions on North Korea, after the secretive regime failed to halt its missile launch program.
Resolution 2371 targets North Korea’s known revenue streams, such as its iron ore and coal exports, in an effort to curtain the country’s economic power.
The United Nations council convened after North Korea carried out two ICBM launches in recent weeks.
