Gardaí in Blanchardstown have confirmed in the past few minutes that the situation at the Blanchardstown shopping centre has officially ended peacefully.
The news comes after armed officers were seen leaving the scene at approximately 8:30pm this evening.
In brief statement a Garda spokesperson said the situation is now under control and the armed Garda officers attending the incident have since left the scene.
It is not yet known what cause the evacuation at the shopping centre but it has been reported that Gardaí were searching for an armed gunman who was apparently spotted in the shopping centre by a member of the public.
