UPDATE: Ryanair flight has safely landed in Stansted airport after declaring an emergency on board heading to Dublin




Ryanair have since released the following statement:
“This flight from Budapest to Dublin (6 Mar) diverted to London Stansted after a customer became ill onboard. The aircraft landed normally and was met by paramedics on arrival, who provided medical assistance and the aircraft will depart to Dublin shortly. Ryanair apologised to affected customers for the short delay to their flight.”

The Ryanair plane that declared an emergency on board just after 6pm has successfully landed in Stansted with emergency crews surrounding it – no word as of yet as to what the emergency is but police and anti-terrorist response units are en route.

The Ryanair flight heading from Budapest to Dublin had sent a ping from the cockpit alerting that there was an emergency on board.

The alarm had been raised at 6:07pm with the flight rapidly descending towards Stansted Airport in Essex.

It is not yet known what the emergency was.

The flight sent a 7700 signal to the control tower which indicated an emergency was declared by the captain.
