Uproar as the government confirms €80 million to be spent on migrant direct provision centres while 10,000 Irish people remain homeless

You could be forgiven to think that there isn’t over 10,000 Irish people homeless in Ireland in 2019 and that’s possibly because it appears that the government are only focused on helping those who want to flood into the country and weren’t born here.

In 2019, the government will last our over €100 million taxpayer money on migrant direct provision centres, now they’ve decided to bankroll another €80 million on more migrant direct provision centres in 2020.

It must be said that it’s more than likely the government will need to spend even more money on direct provision centres in 2020 considering the influx of asylum seeker applications skyrocketed by 53% in 2019, something that will probably happen again in 2020.

Meanwhile, the government have been acccused of ignoring the 10,000 Irish people who are homeless around the country with the government appearing to be far more concerned with the growing numbers of migrants applying for asylum while our own lie wrecked on streets around the country.

The government had already signed off some €70 million taxpayer money for direct provision centres in 2019, now they’re going to spend another €60 million before the end of 2019.

Many people believe that the government’s priorities are completely wrong by spending such gigantic money on migrants while 10,000 Irish men, women and children sleep on park benches, shop doorways and hotel rooms around the country.
