There is widespread outrage on social media this morning as thousands of Irish customers have flocked online to voice their disgust at the sudden closure of travel agency lowcostholidays.ie.

The low cost online travel agency which closed without notice three days ago, has caused uproar amongst 15,000 would be holidaymakers after they knowingly closed their website without providing any refunds. The fiasco which will now see many Irish customers having to re-book their holiday accommodation despite having paid in full has led to the Irish travel agents association having to launch a fullscale investigation in order to determine what went wrong.

However the sudden and unexpected closure has left many citizens angry given the fact the website was still taking bookings three days ago. The news of the sudden collapse has left social media in awash of angry comments with many questioning how they will get their money back. One Twitter user named Peter Clarke wrote: “I am completely gutted my holiday plans are now ruined, what do i do now”. Meanwhile another user by the name of Mary Kavanagh said: “I was looking forward to my family holiday next month, no such luck now, please god i get a refund soon”.

The owners of the travel website have yet to reveal whether or not customers will be entitled to a refund, although the complete mismanagement at the company will surely come in for further scrutiny over the coming days and weeks ahead.
