Uproar on social media directed at Eamon Ryan who has increased clamping fines increasing from €80 to €125 in Dublin from next week

On your bike, Eamon – that’s the sentiment that social media users have been throwing his way over controversial new clamping fees that are set to increase from next week.

People are getting a bit sick and tired of the increases in fees, bills and other amenities that we should be entitled to use without the government throwing their weight around.

Fines for car clamps in Dublin will increase from €80 to €125 next week.

The 56% increase takes effect on March 1st following a decision by Transport Minister Eamon Ryan.

Many people on social media detest clampers saying that they “should get a real job” and that they go around the city to cause “as much hassle to people as possible”.

Many car associations say that it’s yet another attack on motorists, especially given the state of the rising fuel prices.
