Many American news broadcasters including NBC and CNBC are reporting that intelligence supplied by the Pentagon to the Ukrainian army helped sink the Russian cruiser Moskva on 14th April.

The Moskva was a guided missile cruiser was carrying a crew of 510 and was the flagship of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet. It sank on April 14 after being struck by two Ukrainian Neptune anti-ship missiles, U.S. officials said.

Moscow said the vessel sank after a fire. The Moskva was the largest Russian warship sunk in combat since World War II.

However, the censored Russian news station RT.com has reported that Pentagon press-secretary John Kirby has denied reports claiming US intelligence was used in alleged Ukrainian strike on the Moskva.
