Two hundred highly-skilled jobs are to be created in Dublin over the next three years by US software company Workday in their new European Headquarters which will be located in Smithfield, Dublin.
The California-based firm already employs nearly 400 staff in their current headquarters in Dublin.
The company creates cloud-computing applications for human resources and finances, providing services to more than 1,000 organisations globally.
The new positions this expansion will create will be in product and technology development, data centre operations, customer support and sales.
Recruitment for the positions is already under way.
Taoiseach Enda Kenny said: “The continued investment in our economy by the likes of Workday is a vote of confidence in the Irish economy and our talented workforce.”
Minister for Jobs Richard Bruton met with senior Workday executives at their Californian HQ to discuss further expansions in Ireland.
He said: “Cloud computing is a sector which we have targeted as part of our Action Plan for Jobs, and Workday’s continued drive to create jobs in Dublin related to this area, and building on its previous commitments, is a major boost.”
Workday’s Chief Technology Officer in the EMEA, Annrai O’Toole, said: “Dublin is a growing hotbed of highly motivated, highly skilled technologists and we are actively expanding our team to drive our growth and customer success.”
