Utility companies vow not to disconnect any customers during lockdown




Utility companies have vowed not to disconnect any customers during lockdown.

But while utility companies are touting this as a gesture of goodwill, customers cannot be disconnected anyway, as long as they engage to discuss an arrears process.

Colder weather during the second lockdown and people working from home means that utility expenditure has grown significantly, a fact not lost on some electricity providers, which have recently announced price hikes.
