Varadkar: Ireland needs to keep the virus suppressed to avoid a second lockdown – if that’s possible

The former Taoiseach but newly appointed Tanaiste Leo Varadkar has commented that Ireland could be near a level that we could live with coronavirus in society.

Varadkar said that it’s vital that Ireland keeps the virus at bay as to stop a second lockdown, if that’s possible.

According to RTE, Varadkar was speaking at the Dublin Economics Workshop this afternoon citing that the Government must maintain social solidarity, help industries like entertainment, conferencing and aviation which he said had been worse hit by the pandemic.
