The Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has had to clarify whether or not he knew that he’d be marching with Conor McGregor in the Chicago St Patrick’s Day parade.
Varadkar claims that he was completely unaware that the MMA star would be literally feet away from him at the head of the Chicago parade.
He was also forced to clarify did he think it was appropriate that Conor was at the front of the parade, leading the Taoiseach to say that it was a decision for the organisers of the parade who they wanted to be at the front of the parade.
Varadkar also said that he imagined Conor wasn’t there representing Ireland.
