Varadkar: July’s easing isn’t guaranteed – We may enforce local lockdowns if people continue to party in the sunshine

The Tanaiste Leo Varadkar has hit out at the Irish public who were out enjoying the beautiful sunshine over the weekend.

Footage of crowds enjoying the sunshine, partying and having a few drinks were heavily criticised by Leo Varadkar and Dr Tony Holohan.

Holohan said that he was shocked at what he saw in Dublin City Centre on Saturday night while Leo Varadkar threatened local lockdowns may be imposed on Irish people if they don’t behave and stick within the regulations.

Varadkar said that July’s easing of regulations isn’t guaranteed and that the government won’t hestitate to act to have snap lockdowns if they and Holohan deem fit.
