Former Taoiseach appointee and current Tanaiste Leo Varadkar has said that the Government ‘cannot rule out’ another lockdown down the road, even after the entire country is vaccinated.
Mr. Varadkar said that further lockdowns might be required if new virus waves hit Ireland.
A total of more than 4,200 people have died from Covid-19-related causes in Ireland thus far.
It’s understood that NPHET will meet with the government to determine what their guidance is going forward over the coming weeks, including whether the planned reopening on October 22nd can go ahead.
