Varadkar: The government won’t negotiate pay increases for nurses if it doesn’t benefit the taxpayer




The Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has said that the government are unwilling to negotiate pay increases for nurses if it doesn’t benefit the taxpayer.

He said that there’s 300000 other public servants you need to be taken into consideration and that there pay will remain the same if the nurses pay is increased.

The nurses strike is now getting out of control as 3 days are strike a planned for next week.

If anything it feels that both sides have escalated their argument and that neither will back down.

The nurses one better working conditions were they not so understaffed and they won’t appear restored so that is competitive with other countries.

They say that we are losing you nurses to other countries such as Canada Australia and London in the UK.
