Varadkar to hotel owners: Please do not engage in overcharging the public

People are going besserk at the price of domestic hotels up and down the country.

As the anger aimed directly at those blatantly taking advantage of the pandemic appearing to be over in Ireland, Leo Varadkar has thrown his oar into things.

The cost of overnight stays has skyrocketed around the country, especially when concerts and matches are on with some hotels charging upwards of €1,000 per night for two adults.

The Tanaiste Leo Varadkar said that there’s a general shortage of hotels, in particular around Dublin, and has urged hotels not to overcharge the public. It’s largely accepted that most hotels will completely ignore Varadkar on the issue.
