“Vicious hoax” humour flies around the internet that Queen Elizabeth had died

What has been described as a hateful rumour, a text circulated about the queen’s death after a fake WhatsApp message caused panic among royal fans.

Screenshots of a message containing detailed instructions allegedly sent to royal guards were published online over the weekend.

Although the palace made no official comments, several experts and royalty experts said the rumours were completely false.

However, many people fell for the cruel hoax and the message quickly flew around the internet.

The first message, forwarded by someone with the nickname ‘Gibbo’ read that the “Queen has passed away this morning, heart attack, being announced 9.30am tomorrow.
