Limerick Independent TD, Richard O’Donoghue went head to head in the Dail last week during Questions from Opposition Leaders.
Deputy O’Donoghue, on behalf of the Rural Independents Group, highlighted that his groups has already called for a mini budget which was voted down by government. He then told the Dail that Micheal Martin said the Ukraine war was the issue with energy costs, however Deputy O’Donoghue highlighted that the FFG coalition government has taken €6 Billion on tax on fuel alone in one year. According to the Deputy, the government took in €2 Billion in energy related taxes but this has now increased to €6 billion.
