SCROLL DOWN FOR VIDEO –
This video shows the Tanaiste and Labour leader, Joan Burton, refusing to talk to her constituents and gets heckled at Dublin School when she is sitting in her BMW 5-series.
One woman asked the Minister how austerity had affected her, while others said she was a sell-out to their socialist cause. Another protestor said ‘how has austerity affected you Joan, that’s a nice iPhone you have there’ – obviously pointing out smartphones are quite expensive.
Another man pleaded with her to talk about all the suicides in the area including a young father aged 24 who had children. Burton refused to talk.
Burton was in St Eithne’s in theTonlegee area, promoting a ‘Breakfast Club’ when the protesters asked her the questions. As a politician, surely she said have had the decency and common respect to answer the people who put her there in the first place? What do you think?
