New Zealand’s Sonny Bill Williams didn’t just win the Rugby World Cup yesterday – he won the hearts of millions of fans from around the world.

The 6ft 4″, 17 stone kind-hearted kiwi saw 14-yr-old Charlie Lines being pole-axed by an over enthusiastic security guard and immediately helped the boy to his feet.

Other New Zealand players ran over to calm down the security guard with one saying “go easy mate” and tapped the security guard to back off.

What happened next was one of the nicest gestures we’ve seen in sport in a long time. It’s not because it doesn’t happen, it does, numerous times the likes of Rafa Nadal, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic have donated their racket at the end of a match, but they’ve never given away their Wimbledon winning racket – well, that’s basically what Williams just did!

The legend brought the youngster back over to the crowd where his family and friends were. He hugged the kid, took off his Rugby World Cup Winning MEDAL and gave it to Charlie!

Quite simply amazing – and no, sorry ladies, he’s a happily married man!
