Dozens of people gathered in Dublin today to hold a vigil outside Leinster House, right at the spot where 43-year-old homeless man Jonathan Corrie was found dead yesterday morning.
His body was located on Molesworth St., mere yards away from the Dáil’s gates.
This evening, the man’s friends and campaigners working with homeless people observed a minute silence after a candlelit vigil.
Some people held placards highlighting the stark contrast between the man’s surroundings and the circumstances of his demise. Some messages referred to the Government’s apparent lack of care for the citizenry, homeless or not.
Bouquets of flowers and candles have been deposited at the doorway where Jonathan Corrie met his unnecessary death.
