Footage has gone viral online showing a man being held by locals in the a North Dublin area after he allegedly chased a school girl.
In the footage, the man can be seen cowering on the ground as he is berated by irate locals, one man asking him repeatedly “what were you chasing her for” while a woman can he heard advising him “you don’t do that in this country”.
The alleged perpetrator is manhandled and struck with fists and kicked a number of times.
Locals say that Gardai arrived to the scene some 45 minutes later and took the man away in a squad car. It’s not yet known whether an investigation has been opened into the alleged incident.
