Motorists across the country are being urged to drive very carefully this morning as widespread frost, ice and even snow is lying on many roads after much snowfall last night.
The warning comes after Met Éireann issued an orange weather warning for Leinster and parts of Munster and a yellow status warning for the rest of the country.
Met Eireann say roads will be treacherous as temperatures are expected to drop as low as -2c today with more snow to fall over the day and many roads having not been gritted, especially B roads.
