Mind the roads if you’re out and about this morning as Met Eireann say seriously heavy rain that fell over the past day will continue to fall until at least mid morning.
Met Eireann issued a nationwide Status Yellow weather warning for heavy rainfall and possibly flash flooding.
There was heavy and persistent outbursts of rain pretty much everywhere during the night, potentially leading to flooding and hazardous driving conditions this morning as a result.
The warning came into effect at 7pm last evening, and will remain in place until later this morning.
The outlook does not look good, as the national forecaster is predicting a lot of wet weather for the coming weekend, with temperatures hovering between 9-12C.
People are advised to share this information with their friends who’ll be on the roads.
