Washington’s mayor has ordered a 6pm curfew following riots in Capitol Hill.
A crowd of Trump supporters stormed the Capitol building and reached the inside of the Senate chamber a short time ago.
Police reinforcements are on the way in an attempt to disperse the hundreds of people gathered both inside and outside the Capitol building.
The shameful scenes have been described as an ‘attempted coup.’
