Washout: Met Eireann issues Yellow status warning for 10 counties as heavy rain is expected later today




Met Éireann have issued a yellow status rainfall warning for 10 counties on Friday as heavy showers are expected throughout the day.

In an announcement the national forecaster said some localised flooding is expected as up to 50mm of rain is expected to fall in some areas.

The warning which come into effect from 6am this morning will remain in place for 24 hours.

Met Éireann say the warning applies to the following counties Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon, Sligo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick.
