Popular resistance against water charges continues, and strengthens with every passing day.
The We Won’t Pay group has stated that they are entering the boycott phase of the campaign, and will gather outside Irish Water HQ this morning to protest and also outline details about their upcoming plans.
Water bills started circulating around the country yesterday, and will be arriving at people’s homes over the next 8 weeks.
Dublin City Councillor Michael O’Brien of the Anti Austerity Alliance has said that campaigners will be working around local communities to spread their message.
He said “Probably scores of street meetings are taking place in housing estates around the country in the coming days and weeks where people will gather [to] hear the basic arguments in favour of the boycott campaign.”
