Flood waters continue rising after yet another night of heavy rainfall.
Today’s forecast is for drier weather, but another band of rain will cross the country tomorrow, adding more misery to a population well beyond weary at this point.
Clare County Council has warned that water levels on the Lower River Shannon area have risen by 225mm (22.5cm) since yesterday, and are just below the peak 100mm (10cm) flood level of 2009. This poses a significant risk of devastating flooding.
